My favorite is my Ruger SBH Lipsey's 454 Casull. Haven't poked a deer with it yet, but did use it to finish a hog.

My 6.5in 629 seems to be the go to gun these days for deer.
240gr A-Frames have done it well.
All my pics of this revolver seem to be on dead animals.
It's always nice to have a little lung blood added for contrast.

Well, since it's the only hunting revolver I have, I guess it's my favorite. One deer with it so far, but I think that will change.

Well I played with some more of the Ruger's this weekend. A couple Blackhawks, a couple Super RedHawks and a couple GP100's. Having the guns in the store to handle them first to see what you like makes a big difference especially with the price of them. I really don't think I care for the Blackhawks. It's not the gun or the single action it's the grip. I just don't like the way they feel and they remind me of one of my dad's old guns. That's not a bad thing it's just not for me. I really like the Super RedHawks and the GP 100's with the rubber grips.

You should get your hands on a Ruger Bisley if possible. I don't care for the hogleg handle either, but the Bisley fits my hand like it was made for me. Same main frame as the Blackhawk, different handle.

You can change the grips on a Blackhawk and make it feel like a totally different gun. I replaced the factory grips on my Blackhawk with a set of rubber Houge grips and now it fits my had like a glove.

Having large hands the factory grips did not give me enough to wrap my hands around.

Now it will shoot groups like this when I do my part. I did have a local gunsmith do a trigger on it also.

Yup, one of my favorites too. Mine is becoming one of my go-to revolver for hunting everything. It has accounted for one big hog and a really big water buffalo.

My favorite is my 5.5" Ruger Bisley in .45 Colt. Here it is with it's companion .45acp cylinder.
